Dave is a Registered Clinical Counsellor, School Counsellor, Teacher and Coach who supports all identities and ages of clients from children to seniors as well as clients within the First Nations Health Authority and Nisga’a Valley Health.

In his work with the Burnaby School District as a District Counsellor, Dave supports students in three Alternate Programs with a variety of diverse social/emotional needs and is as a member of the District Mental Health team. As a Clinical Counsellor, Dave assists adults seeking support in improving relationships with others as well as addressing life challenges, stress, anxiety, depression, anger as well as grief & loss.

Dave’s clinical approach is rooted in Satir Transformational Systemic Therapy with the goal of improving one’s relationships and communication within the family structure by addressing actions, emotions and perceptions as they relate to their dynamic within their family unit. Dave’s personal experience as a former Canadian National Team Soccer Player helps him to support athletes with motivation, goal setting, confidence building, mental fortitude and focus.

A graduate of the City University of Seattle, Simon Fraser University and Capilano University, Dave is a lifelong learner who is also recently trained in Level 1 Gottman Method Couples Therapy as well as the San’yas Indigenous Cultural Safety Training.

Over the years Dave has supported individuals with a variety of mental health needs and diverse learning challenges, assisting them to create positive self-concepts and to facilitate and maintain strong personal relationships. His caring and empathetic practice helps clients to address personal challenges by understanding their own personal beliefs, feelings, expectations and perceptions and how they relate to others’, through experiential self-awareness, in the attempt to create a more harmonious self.
